1.0 Modding Setup

1.1 Launch the Game

– Install Metro 2033 Redux from Steam (This guide also works for the GOG version of Metro 2033 Redux)
– Launch it. Get to the main menu. Close the game.

If you don’t launch the game for its first time the files mentioned below won’t exist.

2.0 Fixes & Restoration

2.1 Annoyances

NO-INTRO (SKIP STARTUP – SPLASH VIDEOS)

Mod Description: Save a few seconds on startup by disabling some intro screen.

– Manually download the mod.
– Open the archive. Open the Optional Intro Removal folder. Open the Metro 2033 Redux folder. Open the 2033 folder.
– Navigate to your game folder (Metro 2033 Redux). Open the 2033 folder, there.
– Drag and drop the intro.gov file from the archive inside. Replace the file in the destination.
– Back in the archive arrow back to the Metro 2033 Redux folder. Open it. Open the 2033 folder, here.
– Drag and drop the legal.ogv file into the games 2033 folder. Replace the file in the destination.

3.0 Visuals

HD METRO 2033 REDUX BY HARRISONFOG

Mod Description: This is a ReShade Preset. Reshade is a graphical overlay to enhance the visual experience of the game.

– Navigate to your game folder (Days Gone). Open BendGame\Binaries\WIN64. Delete any file that is here EXCEPT the DaysGone.exe. (There may not be any other files).

– Go to ReShade.me
– In the center of the screen select Download (the button location may change over time).
– Download the latest ReShade option. (with full add-on support not needed).
– Double-click the executable that was downloaded.
– In the Select a game or application window locate and select Metro Redux Executable. Next.
– Select DirectX 10/11/12. Next.
– At the top left Uncheck all. Then reclick Check all. Finish installation.

– On the THE METRO 2033 REDUX BY HARRISONFOG mod page, manually download the MAIN FILE.
– Open the archive.
– In a second window navigate to your game folder (Metro 2033 Redux).
– Drag and drop the HD Metro Preset Harrisonfog.ini inside.

– Launch the game
– Once you get to the main menu push the Home key. Skip Tutorial.
– Select the dropdown at the top. Choose HD Metro Preset Harrisonfog.ini. Select.
– Untick FlexibleCA. Save at the top right. Push the Home key.
